Environmental degradation and depletion of natural resources taking place at an alarming rate has been a topic of serious global concern in the recent years. Creator of such situation is none other than humankind itself. Greed for more wealth and luxury, ignorance about the intricacies of the environment and the compulsion of subsistence are assumed as the main reasons responsible for the creation of such conditions. Hence, TRT believes is the only way out for securing a desirable environmental quality.

Health can be defined as "the capacity of people to adopt to respond to, or control life's challenges and changes." The philosophy of TRT supports the transformation of "sick societies” into “healthy societies” not only in the physical sense but also in the social, political, and economic sense. We give emphasis to preventive measures rather than curative measures, including through work on nutrition, HIV/AIDS, sanitation, drinking water programme etc.
